Growing up in the suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri, single parent homes were unheard of and few and far between, however, at 10 years old, I, myself, became a product of a single parent home. It was then, I learned the value of “It Takes a Village”, when my mother was unavailable, there were a dozen "aunties and uncles”, friends and neighbors, to temporarily stand in and assist. That is just not the case in these recent times, the availability of “The Village”, has become obsolete.

Being a certified educator of 17 years, and, a single mother of three, my heart longed to be a more integral asset to the community, more importantly, the families of the community. No longer were the days of the extended family, I have observed many families struggle to maintain their children's lifestyles as they worked to support and secure their households. They just needed an extra layer of support. Just a few years ago, I was that single mother that needed that same assistance, needing to be present in more than one location at the same time, because my daughters' schedules conflicted with my schedule. “If only I could clone myself”, I thought.

My observations, experiences and testimony birthed “Because Kids on the Go, LLC”, created to assist the working families of school-aged children. We provide safe, reliable, door to door transportation of children customized specifically to the needs of each particular family's situation and necessities.

In recent years, amidst the pandemic and many other treacherous occurrences in the community. My ministry has thus grown, “BK On the Go, excitedly services the community as a whole.
